Visitors of the recently opened Winter Garden Village at Fowler’s Grove may wonder why there’s a statue of a young girl holding oranges in her hand at the entrance of the Grove section. Well, the statue represents the founding families of the Winter Garden’s citrus industry. A prominent local artist named Sue Thompson created the piece along with other works of art celebrating the area’s history for this new public venue.
