I went to the induction weekend ceremonies in Goshen Ny, July 09. What a wonderful honor for our whole family. The people at the museum showed us such hospitality. I will not forget my experiences there. If any other family would like to make contact I am on Facebook. General Withers was my Great great Grandfather.

We are are descendents of William Temple Withers, late of Fairlawn Stock Farm, Lexington, Ky. Our book on his life will be published next year. Because of this research, General Withers will be inducted into list of Immortals of the Harness Racing Hall of Fame, Goshen, N.Y. July 3, 2009.

I saw a monument for William Temple Withers at Vicksburg. My maiden name was Withers. The only ancesters I know of came from Ohio and West Virginia. Did William have any West Virginia or Ohio history?

This was my great-great grandfather's Florida home. His farm was Fairlawn, just north of Lexington, Kentucky. He also had several plantations in Mississippi that came to him through his wife.
