The Historic Edgewater Hotel in downtown Winter Garden opened its doors in 1927 as one of the most technologically advanced hotels of its era. It featured climate control, refrigerators, and the Otis Elevator which is still there today.Winter Garden garnered a reputation as a premiere bass fishing destination with legendary numbers of bass being caught at nearby Lake Apopka. The hotel installed fish cleaning stations on each floor in 1936 and advertised as a fisherman’s paradise in Field and Stream magazine.

Numerous renovations have taken place here yet still retains much of its original ambiance from the 1930′s. Antique sinks, fixtures, era furniture, and the Otis Elevator takes visitors to an era gone by. The Edgewater Hotel currently operates as a bed and breakfast and can be rented out for special functions.
