The New American Home for 2011 has just been revealed on the shores of Lake Davis near downtown Orlando. The architecture is said to be Greek Revival, but to me appears more like the 20’s period mansions found in south Florida cities like Palm Beach and Miami.
I’ve seen quite a few homes in the Orlando market and it’s definitely a different style of architecture for the area.
The property boats 8,500 square feet, encompasses 3 lots, and all the latest green building technologies available today. The property has achieved the “Emerald” status which is the highest level that can be awarded by the National Green Building Standard for resource efficiency.
Some of the green features include: solar assisted HVAC, solar hot water heater with gas backup, spray foam insulation, hydronic air handlers, tankless water heater, greywater recycling, and rain water harvesting system.
