Some of the events that’s interesting are the Surf Expo January 14-16, the PGA Merchandise Show January 28-30, the Central Florida Boat Show March 5-7, and Photoshop World Conference March 24-26.

In any case it’s a huge complex that’s enjoyed by people from all over the world and adds tourism dollars to SW Orlando.

The Windermere Boat Parade is all set for sunset on December 19th. This new annual Windermere Christmas tradition will start and finish on Bird Island with the route meandering through Lake Butler and Wauseon Bay. There’s been rumors that the route will be expanded this year, but I’d check their blog to confirm.

Boating is definitely a part of life in this town among the lakes, and I can’t think of a better way to get in the Christmas spirit Windermere style.

The city of Ocoee has become the first town in SW Orlando to feature it’s own channel on YouTube. They’ve already added a good bit of content and the latest is about the Ocoee Parks and Recreation Haunted House to be open October 29th & 30th at 951 Ocoee Park Road.

There’s also a neat little video about the annual Founders Day Parade in the downtown area.

I think it’s a great way to showcase the area and hope nearby towns follow suit.

Homeowners in the townhouse community of Phillips Bay in Dr. Phillips filed a lawsuit against the builder, Deluca Homes, in 2007 due to mold, missing stucco, and patios that are not structurally sound. The civil case is scheduled to be heard October 12.

Deluca Homes has also built the same style of townhouses in Carriage Homes at Della and most recently, Toscana. There’s already been a civil case against the builder in Carriage Homes at Della, so it’ll be interesting to see if one arises in Toscana although the style of construction was different.

Anyone considering buying a home here should find out more about the lawsuit before purchasing and whether or not the faulty construction is affecting the unit you’re buying.

Just because there’s a lawsuit doesn’t mean there’s something actually wrong, but you could be getting into a situation that requires a lot more attention than you’re willing to give.

My suggestion is to stay away until things get settled.

Far out man. The Global Peace Film Festival is returning to Orlando for the 7th time on September 22-27 spreading the message of peace through international films striving to make a difference in the world. The event kicks off with a peace street parade as well as a pet parade in Baldwin Park.

The historic Garden Theatre will host one of the films on September 23rd. I’m glad they’re spreading the peace, love, and harmony here in SW Orlando.

It’s been years since it’s been on the east coast much less in your home town.

Some of the items that are expected to be released at this convention is the American release of the Shimano Aldebaran, an upgrade to the Shimano Cumara rod, a Daiwa Fuego reel made of a new material called Zaion, the soon to be released Phat Frog by Snag Proof, and a host of other gadgets made for the fishing enthusiast.

For a fisherman, it’s like getting a chance to get the new Iphone before it hits the market. Can’t wait.

The annual Windermere Wake Fest took place last month on April 4th and 5th at Camp Down as part of the Festival Among the Lakes celebration. It’s considered to be the first pro level wakeboard contest of the year and the pros brought their sickest bag of tricks for this event.

The week long festival as well as the 2 day wakeboard tournament raises money for local charities and provides a week full of fun for residents in Windermere.

The conditions were pretty choppy and not the best this year, but the level of fun and wakeboarding did not wane one bit. The results are as follows:
